Is there a flat panel 32 inch TV that is no more than 31 inches wide?

I only have 31 inches across exactly to fit in a flat panel television, but most 32 inch tvs seem to be at least 31.5 inches across…
How much more would you pay for a lighter, thinner flat panel HDTV?

I’m hearing about some very expen$$$$$$$ive flat panel HDTV’s coming out of the CES. They’re talking about this being the next big thing in HDTV. My point of view aside, how much would *you* be willing to spend to cut the thickness and weight of a flat panel television in half? Please include the diagonal screen size you’ve got in mind and any other relevant information.

I have an old school DVD player (480i I think) feeding 1080P flat panel TV.I have read (on about three different occasions) that a 1080P television will upconvert a 480i signal to 1080p.Is this true?

About a year ago I got a new TV for my bedroom, nothing too flashy, just a 24″ flat-screen CRT.
About a month or two after I bought it it started doing something I think is rather strange; whenever the picture doesn’t change much, like in the menu on my satellite, or video game menus, the TV gets two large spots on either side of the screen; one purple, to the center of the left, and one greenish, to the center of the right.
At first it wasn’t that bad, they weren’t that big. But recently the spots have become larger and more obvious.
This isn’t a burn-in like on a plasma; the spots fade after a few minutes if I change to something that moves, and its a CRT television.
I hope I explained this well enough, I’ve never heard of such a problem before.
