I recently bought this Tv wallmount to hang my new 42″ Toshiba clearscan 240 LCD. I was admittedly apprehensive about hanging my tv up on the wall, but after reading the reviews on the previous model by Cheetah and hearing the lone review on the newer model of wall mount, I decided to go for the upgraded model.
I am certainly glad that I did! The build quality of this beast of a mount is high, though just like the original mount it’s fasteners are somewhat suspect, so I did what other recommended and went out and bought new bolts and jam nuts. (A tiny cost of 45cents for a few heavy duty nuts and bolts)
The assembly was straight forward, instructions easy to follow and it certainly holds up well under even my bodyweight when I tested the strength of it on the wall (didn’t budge an inch). The fact that it’s rated to hold far more then my tv’s 59pounds was certainly a major plus in my mind.
The mounts movements are fluid, easily adjusted and seady when your done positioning it. I’ve got it hung so that it’s positioned in a corner of the room, so as I move around to different area’s of the room, such as my gaming desk I just turn it easily to face the desk, or the couch for movies/tv watching.

This is a wonderful mount and very easy to install. It comes with all of the necessary supplies, including a level. This is the 3rd Cheetah Mount I have bought and would not have any other brand. I have two of the large Cheetah Mound APDAM3B’s and a small one. You cannot beat this price or quality.

Not going to repeat what has already been said, however I will make a few points.
1 – Use at least a 2 foot level (all I have are 4 foot). The built-in level is convenient, however it was off by well over an inch. I never unwrapped the provided torpedo level that was also included. I would do that regardless of the brand.
2 – Get assistance unless you want to do what I done – disassemble the arms to mount it.
I’m sure I am forgetting 1 other, but it escapes me.
Other than the 2 tips, if you’re looking for a solid articulating mount – don’t hesitate. My 58C550 plasma is neatly hanging (corner mounted) above the new Sanus wall mount component rack Sanus Systems VF5022-B1 Dual Column Wall-Mounted Furniture Component with 2 Shelves

I needed a strong mount to hold a 47″ LCD (~90 lbs) and this cheetah APDAM3B wall mount can support up to 165 lbs. It is not flimsy at all. I found the mounting process to be quite easy (all in it took about 1hr and I’m no expert). Instructions were not perfect. The integrated level was a very nice feature. The most difficult part of the mounting process for me was holding the relatively heavy mount up and level (I did this alone) in order to pencil in the drill marks. Anyway, a great value and I’m quite pleased overall.

I was looking for a quality product that didn’t require spending half the cost of my lcd tv. Was this even possible? Having a need for articulation to move the screen out of the glare of sun I thought this was going to be expensive and a hassle. I have worked with a/v and electronics as a career and was aware of the markup on big name products. Those products are usually very good at what they do, but these days there is usually a lower cost alternative that works as well if not better. Cheetah Mounts has a great product that is well constructed, solid and very inexpensive compared to other manufacturers. It doesnt have a lot of chrome or uneeded trendy futuristic, geometric arcs or bends. I have a 40″Samsung attached to the bracket that weighs around 31 pounds and have no issues with any of the various adjustments. Instructions were very easy and would think that inexperienced homeowners could comprehend and feel comfortable with. Everything was in the box for the average installation. My home is 110 years old and has lath and plaster walls, so I used some longer lag bolts and lock washers to assure I had sufficient bite into my studs. Each install is different, consult the manufacturer or a professional for advice. The last thing you want to have is personal injury or damage to the structure and electronics. There are many single stud mounts out there today that seem affordable but I wanted a double stud mount to have added rigidity and stability for the years to come. The mount has a built in level but found my level and it did not completely agree with each other. The steel edge on the mount may have been slightly uneven, not a huge concern. I used the level built in the mount and seemed to appear level visually. You usually have to adjust the tv after it’s mounted and that what I did. I did not have a need to consult the manufacturer but feel confident that they would assist with whatever issues or questions might arise. Mount arrived exactly when Cheetah specified.
