Best 40inch Lcd Tv For Blue Ray And Video Games?
Any suggestion on a good LCD TV to watch blue ray movies and play playstation 3 games.
Don’t want to spend more than $1500 though.

What you need to look for are TV’s that display 1080p (not i)
) get yourself over to AVFORUMS and do search – there is an owners thread that links you to the best picture settings. Out of the box they are okay, but once set correctly the picture is excellent.
To be able to do this properly you need to find one that can display 1920×1080 pixels. The reason I mention this is that some of the cheaper 40″ screens still only show 1366*768 pixels and these are only good for 720p
I would recommend the Samsung LE40M87BD(X) model. This is a true 1080P TV and comes with a game mode. The picture quality is stunning and a very good price (not sure what it is in $ though!)
Be careful to look for the M mode and not the R as the R is cheaper and only runs at 1366*768.

Just FYI: unless you plan on sitting closer than 4 1/2 feet from your television, don’t get 1080p for this screen size.
The reason is that if you plan on sitting at optimal viewing distance for your screen size, your eye won’t be able to resolve and noticible gain in detain between a 720p and 1080p set.
Even though a 720p set won’t be able to display ever line of your PS3’s 1080p signal, you won’t be losing out in any detail because of the screen size.
If you insist on getting a 1080p television, go for one that is larger than 50in.

get a philips 42inch lcd tv with Ambilight, it makes hd movies more enjoyable and it should do the same for games.

I have a samsung 40 Inch LCD and love it! It was about $1800 though. Check the big electronics stores the day after Thanksgiving for the best deals. PS3 games look phenominal on it.
