If you install a screen over a fireplace you not only run the risk of damaging the screen’s internal components, the heat from the fireplace can make the wall expand and the bracket will fall off.

This depends on a lot of factors; is this a ventless fireplace or a traditional fireplace? Most likely a ventless fireplace won’t produce enough BTUs to effect the unit if about 16 inches above the top of the unit; however depending on the air flow and design it may still push the heat up (most push heat down since heat rises naturally).
With a traditional fireplace it most likely will affect the TV, depending again on the heat flow you’ll want to hang a mercuy thermonitor on the wall where it will go and see how hot it gets after an hour or two of burning.
Note: This is a bad idea in general since the light emitted from the fireplace will effect the eyes and result in poor view of the TV to begin with,

You’re gonna have to test it yourself…
place your hand on the wall and see if it is hotter than when the fireplace is off
and see if the heat moves upward from the fire to where your tv would be
as long as the cables are far from the fireplace, and the screws dont go into the chimney, you should be fine
but otherwise, remember that tvs are not designed for more than room temperatures

it would be a very bad idea. all manufacturers of flat panel TV’s tell you not to put it anyware near scources of heat/heater/radiators. you will drastically reduce the life of the screen, and it will overheat and parts will burn out very quickly.
