Does The Ps3 Really Only Supports Lcd Tv?

I’m planning to buy a PS3 at the end of this year. My friends told me not to because they say it only supports LCD tv and not any other ordinary tv. I’m wondering if its true and if it is please give me some options.

Not true, it will be supported by a regular TV because it has the 3 RCA Cables. I think what he ment it would look good on a LCD TV, and better the more resolution the TV has and if you have HDMI, but it looks good on a regular TV and it doesn’t bother me on my regular TV

The PS3 naturally supports standard TVs.
The cable, that comes with the PS3 is standard TV only by the way.
I also brought my PS3 over to a friend, who only has a standard TV. It worked perfectly (with lower resolution graphics of course).
In order to get a full resolution picture on a HDTV, you will need to buy additional cables.
So your friends don’t know what they’re talking about.

no but it does support LCD tv’s.
people would want to know it does because lcd is a popular hdtv i guess.
but any tv with av cables (red white and yellow) should work in addition to fancy hdtv’s people have these days

Its not true, I just purchased one. If it only supported LCD, which it said no where on the box, I wouldn’t have bought it!
